Steps To Be Eligible To Be Drafted
If you are an athlete who would like to be considered as a potential team member on one of the 21 teams who will be participating in the 2026 draft, you must first be registered with the league. You will find the registration form below.
Important dates to remember.
Registration window - December 1, 2025 - March 31, 2026.
No Registrations will be accepted after 3/31/2026.
Once you have registered, you may choose to be placed into one of the 40 team showcase events. These 40 events will be spread throughout the united states. Based off your address, you will be assigned to the closest showcase.
The 40 showcases will be held from April 1, 2026 until July 31, 2026. Participating in the showcase is not a requirement to be drafted, however, it will provide you an opportunity to meet with the scouts and management from the twenty-one teams and provide the scouts the opportunity to watch your skills in person.

If I register will I be drafted?
Registration is required for all teams to have your information and your videos. Being registered does not guarantee that you will be drafted
If I am drafted by a team that I don’t want to play for, can I not join the team?
Yes. You have the choice to sign the contract with the team who drafted you.
It’s important to understand that the team that drafts you, maintains exclusive rights to you until the following draft in 2028
If I choose to not sign with the team that drafted me, am I eligible to be drafted by another team?
Your eligibility to be drafted by another team will be possible for the following years draft
How long is my contract?
If you are drafted in the first round, your contract will be good for two years.
If you are drafted in rounds 2,3, or 4, your contract is good for one year.
Can I select certain teams that I want to be drafted from?
You are permitted to notify the teams of your preferred teams, however, teams are not required to adhere to your requests.
If you elect to participate in one of the Pre Draft Showcases, you will have the opportunity to speak privately with each of the teams. This gives both you and the team the opportunity to get to know each other and discuss your goals as well as the goals of the team
Can I compete in other events besides that USRL?
Being a member of a team requires you to attend all 21 rodeo events as well as the year end finals. Each team and athlete have the opportunity to negotiate other events
Is my contract guaranteed?
Contract language is negotiated between the team and the athlete. Every contract is unique.
If I live in another state, can I go home for visits during the season.
Yes. All athletes have five days off in between each event.
